Macabre Monday – Monochromatic Monstrosities

Today’s Macabre Monday challenge over at Haunted Design House called for something sinister in Monochrome.  I thought this would be pretty easy (do you hear an evil laugh?) but turns out, it was harder than I thought it would be!  I kept wanting to add color to it and getting that image embossed just right took some doing (yes, I definitely hear evil laughter…)

So here you have my little graveyard scene.  I embossed the image and some very smooth cardstock I had, but unfortunately don’t recall the manufactures’ name. (I do know it is not Stampin’ Up).  Once I had the right cardstock, it embossing came out pretty good.  I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the spider web on the middle panel. Since it wasn’t showing up very good, I decided to use some Skickles to trace the web.  Not sure if I like the effect or not, but otherwise, the embossing got a little lost.  The back glitter panel is paper by American Crafts.  The spiderweb ribbon, I may have gotten through Oriental Trading, but I can’t be sure, sorry. I have a super bad habit of not paying attention to such things (sigh).

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies/Details:  Glitter Paper – American Crafts; Graveyard/Raven Stamp – Inkadinkado; Cuttlebug/Spiderweb Embossing Folder; Brads, Pearls, Spiderweb Ribbon (unknown)

Macabre Monday – Elegantly Evil

Halloween, Haunted Design House, Third Coast Stamps 4 Comments »

Today’s card is made for Haunted Design House – Macabre Monday Challenge Elegantly Evil.  Our task was to “create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using evil imagery with a touch of elegance.”  I tried to add some elegant elements with my DP and charms, not to mention, my lady vamp from Third Coast Rubber Stamps, looks pretty elegant in her dress and cape, don’t you think?

This is actually my first time participating in the Macabre Monday Challenge and I hope I met all the requirements. Playing along was tons of fun and I hope to be able to continue to play each week.  It gives me a good excuse to create Halloween cards all year long!

Details:  Colored w/ Copics, DP – Oriental Trading, Mistress of the Night, Grave Yard and Dead Tree Stamps all Third Coast RS.
