Altered Bottle Art

Altered Bottles, Pirate, Sweet Pea Stamps, Tropical No Comments »

Something new and fun I have been trying. Altered Bottle Art. I picked up this old clear square corked bottle from a flea market. I decoupaged the bottle and then painted it red adding gold mica flakes, glitter, micobeads, shells, fishing net and anything else I could find! The images are from Sweet Pea Rubber Stamps. The top of the bottle is the cork that I painted black and added some gold glitter too, then I went through my junk draws and found this old wooden cat toy that you could fill with catnip. It was perfect! I painted it red and then added a straight pin through the hole on top of the cat toy. Strung some beads on wire and twisted that around the neck and ta-da, my very first altered bottle! I had tons of fun making this, so there will definately be more. I will be sure to post whenever I get them done.

Little Pirate

In a Sweet Pea Dream, Making Memories, Pirate, Sweet Pea Stamps 2 Comments »

This card is for today’s card sketch challenge at SCS and the challenge over at In a Sweet Pea Dream “Anything at all #7″ for Sweet Pea Stamps.

For the sentiment, I just cut out a phrase that was on the background paper that I used from Making Memories Spellbound collection. I stitched the corners and cut out then popped up my little pirate with form tape to give it some dimension. I then added some stickles to her hat, coat and boots. I used chalks to create the clouds in the background.

Pirate Mermaid

Elaine Cox Pirate Captain Mermaid can be found over at Sweet Pea Stamps.  I absolutely love Mermaids and Pirates, so this is one of my favoriate stamps.  I colored my mermaid pirate with copics and then stitched around the top with thread.  I used the skull punch from EK Success to create the middle panel, and the “ahoy” sentiment at the bottom is from Cornish Heritage Farms.  Added some small brads along the bottom and two in the top corner.

Supplies/Details:  Stamps – Elaine Cox Pirate Captain Mermaid Sweet Pea RS; Paper – Glitz Design & The Paper Studio; Brads, Thread, EK Success Skull Punch.  Colored with Copics.

Dragon, Pirate, Sweet Pea Stamps 2 Comments »

Arrrghh!  Ahoy Mateys!  I made this card in honor of today being International Talk Like a Pirate Day.  I admit it, I love pirates (especially of the Johnny Depp variety). I also love dragons, so when I saw this adorable little guy by Lisa Victoria over at Sweet Pea Stamps, I had to have him!  I popped him up on his little pirate ship to give him a little more dimension, added a charm, just keeping things kind of simple.  Hope you enjoy my little pirate dragon (or is that dragon pirate?)  Here in Florida…’thar’s a storm brewin’, so I’m gonna go batten down the hatches and then imbibe vast quantities of rum.  (Just kidding about the run….maybe ; )
