It’s time for another challenge over at the Corrosive Challenge Blog, this week the theme is Pretty Pastels and is sponsored by The Paper Shelter.

The prize for the challenge is $20 gift certificate, so you will definitely want to join in the fun!  For my card, I used Enchanted Ocean.  I colored the image with Copics and added from Stampendous Fran-tage around the edges.  The shell background panel is Impression Obsession and the seahorse on the corner is from Jolee’s Boutique.  I hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!  Hope to see you at the challenge!

Summer Mermaids

Mermaid, Third Coast Stamps, Tropical No Comments »

I know it’s been awhile since I posted anything on here!  Been a busy six months!  Hopefully, I will have much more free time this summer to play!  First project, my mermaid collage.  A friend of mine owns a windows treatment and blind store and they get these sample books with the different types of blinds and shades that are available. When the blinds are discontinued or the books are updates, she no longer has use for the old books and she gives them to me to see if I can recycle into something crafty. So I used it as a background for my mermaid beach collage.

Supplies: Mermaid Stamps – Third Coast RS; Shells, Pearls, Jolee’s Stickers.

HDH094 – Menacing Mermaids

Halloween, Haunted Design House, Mermaid, Third Coast Stamps 5 Comments »

I created this card for Haunted Design House Macabre Monday Challenge – which was to create a dark themed project using mermaids as the focus.  Fun idea, but I didn’t have any mermaids that looked to menacing so I decided to try and create a scene and hack something together.  Now I’m not real good at stamping out elaborate scenes.  Doing scenes like this means thinking ahead, and anyone who knows me well, knows I rarely think ahead, but I thought Iwould give it another try.  I picture my one mermaid saying to the other, “Hey, that’s mine, you thief!”  There is gonna be a catfish fight, I know it!

Supplies:  Third Coast Rubber Stamps – Maisie & Frilltail Mermaid; Crab Seascape; Ship Wreck; Pescado Muerto; Pile of Skulls: Paper – Unknown; Brads, Foam Pop Ups.  Colored with Copics.

Rising Flame

Sweet Pea Stamps Ching-Chou Kuik’s Rising Flame.  I loved coloring this image – it was a little bit of a challenge.  A lot of blending!  My hand was tired : p  Anyway, I think it came out really nice.  Orange glitter paper is from Best Occasion.  I’m not sure the manufacturer of the green glitter swirl paper.  Used the Fiskars Wave punch to make the middle panel.  Was going for a “flame” look.  Didn’t quite make it, but considering I have nothing else “flamey” guess it will have to do.

Sweet Pea

Supplies: Sweet Pea Stamps Rising Flame.  Paper:  Best Occasion, Fiskars Wave Punch, Green Pearls.  Orange Brads.  Colored with Copics.

Bamboo Serenade

This card was created for the sketch challenge over at SCS.  I really should be working on Christmas cards, but love these Sweet Pea stamps. Not sure who makes the dp – there was no name on the back. Didn’t do anything special with this, just a bunch of layers and a few jewels.

Pirate Mermaid

Elaine Cox Pirate Captain Mermaid can be found over at Sweet Pea Stamps.  I absolutely love Mermaids and Pirates, so this is one of my favoriate stamps.  I colored my mermaid pirate with copics and then stitched around the top with thread.  I used the skull punch from EK Success to create the middle panel, and the “ahoy” sentiment at the bottom is from Cornish Heritage Farms.  Added some small brads along the bottom and two in the top corner.

Supplies/Details:  Stamps – Elaine Cox Pirate Captain Mermaid Sweet Pea RS; Paper – Glitz Design & The Paper Studio; Brads, Thread, EK Success Skull Punch.  Colored with Copics.
