Challenge #46 – You’re a Stitch!

Tiddly Inks 11 Comments »

Created this card for the card challenge being held over at Tiddly Inks, You’re a Stitch!  The theme being to incorporate stitching into your card somewhere.  I added mine to the middle, stitching my two panels together. The fabulous border punch was  a gift from a fabulous friend.  I used some decorative ribbon and weaved some black beaded cord through it, trying to make it looked for like barbed wire to match the image. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to show up so well in the image.  Had a blast with the challenge, hope to catch the next one!

Supplies:  Digital Image, Tiddly Inks; Paper, K & Co; Ribbon, Cord, Thread, Stickles, Pearls, MS Border Punch. Colored with Copics.

HDH085 Gothic Pin-up

Halloween, Haunted Design House, Tiddly Inks 5 Comments »

For the Haunted Design House Challenge this week, it’s goth pin-ups. Perfect for me, since I love goth and pin-ups! This actually took much longer then I wanted. The image and sentiment are from Tiddly Inks, who has also sponsored the challenge this week.  I thought for my card, that I would actually try and make a frame (which is why this took so long).  I cut some flat wooden slats I had down to fit as the frame, then painted them with black acrylic paint.  I then added microbeads and glitter to the frame to try and give it a grungy look to fit the card.  The background was embossed using my cuttlebug and a Tim Holtz folder.  The middle panel is designer paper with trees, but unfortunately, the name of the company that makes it is unknown to me.  I added some metal photo corners to the frame once I got it in place.  In the background behind the middle panel I added some pine punch outs. I did add some stitching to her button eye, but unfortunately, that did not show up to well in the image.

Supplies: Digi Stamps – Tiddly Inks; Paper – unknown; Photo corners, paint, microbeads, pine punch, jewels.

Altered Bottle Art

Altered Bottles, Pirate, Sweet Pea Stamps, Tropical No Comments »

Something new and fun I have been trying. Altered Bottle Art. I picked up this old clear square corked bottle from a flea market. I decoupaged the bottle and then painted it red adding gold mica flakes, glitter, micobeads, shells, fishing net and anything else I could find! The images are from Sweet Pea Rubber Stamps. The top of the bottle is the cork that I painted black and added some gold glitter too, then I went through my junk draws and found this old wooden cat toy that you could fill with catnip. It was perfect! I painted it red and then added a straight pin through the hole on top of the cat toy. Strung some beads on wire and twisted that around the neck and ta-da, my very first altered bottle! I had tons of fun making this, so there will definately be more. I will be sure to post whenever I get them done.

Supplies: Stamps, Sweet Pea Rubber Stamps; Decoupage, Acrylic paint (red, white); tissue paper, gold mica flakes, glitter, microbeads, shells, fishnet, charms, beads, wire, random cat toy, lots of glue : p

HDH084 – Zombie Apocalypse

Halloween, Haunted Design House, Third Coast Stamps 3 Comments »

I made this card for this weeks Macabre Monday Challenge over at Haunted Design House.  The theme was to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based zombie project.  I realized I had the perfect zombie image with Madam Macabre found over at Third Coast Rubber Stamps.

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the background panel, then I used some red velvet ribbon and spider web ribbon as a middle panel.  I love that glitter paper from the Paper Studio, so also used that to add some sparkle and more texture.  Isn’t she just a beauty?  LOL.

Supplies: Stamps – Third Coast Rubber Stamps; Paper – The Paper Studio; Velvet Ribbon, Spider Web Ribbon (Oriental Trading); Red Brads and Pearls.  Colored with Copics.
