HDH094 – Menacing Mermaids

Halloween, Haunted Design House, Mermaid, Third Coast Stamps 5 Comments »

I created this card for Haunted Design House Macabre Monday Challenge – which was to create a dark themed project using mermaids as the focus.  Fun idea, but I didn’t have any mermaids that looked to menacing so I decided to try and create a scene and hack something together.  Now I’m not real good at stamping out elaborate scenes.  Doing scenes like this means thinking ahead, and anyone who knows me well, knows I rarely think ahead, but I thought Iwould give it another try.  I picture my one mermaid saying to the other, “Hey, that’s mine, you thief!”  There is gonna be a catfish fight, I know it!

Vampire Inspired…

Alpha Stamps, Altered Bottles, Bottles, Halloween, Vampire No Comments »

Wanted to do something vampire-ish and this is what I came up with.  I discovered these awesome skull and crossbones cameos over at Alpha Stamps and I was just dying to use it on something!  The Lovecraft sentiment was some digital art I purchased over at Etsy from steamduststudios.  I didn’t have any decent black lace and really couldn’t find any, so I took some white lace I had and spritzed it with black Smooch Spritz from Clean Snap.

Altered Bottle Art

Another altered bottle I created today. I think I might be starting toget the hang of this. Can’t seem to keep the glue and paint off my fingers though, but I guess that is half the fun : p  The image is by HarrisonFisher. I added some other images of his below for you to enjoy ; )

SC337 – The Count

Halloween, Third Coast Stamps 2 Comments »

Created this card for the Split Coast Sketch Challenge.  Trying to get my Halloween cards done early.  Every year, I’m working on them right up until the last minute.  Hoping I can avoid that this year!  All stamps used here are from third coast.  I stamped out a scene first using The Count and then masking him, I added the gravestone behind him.   I used a circle I cut out from scrap paper to mask out the moon, then I added the bat.  I colored two more images of The Count to pop up to give a more 3D effect.  I thought adding the lace ribbon at the bottom with the black pearls would be a nice touch of elegance…cause vampires of elegant, right?  : p

Supplies: Stamps, Third Coast RS – The CountCemeteryBat; Paper, Oriental Trading; Black Pearls, Black Ribbon, Brads.  Colored with Copics.

HDH093 – Dangerous

Haunted Design House, Kenny K No Comments »

This is for the Huanted Design House Macabre Monday challenge.  Kuriously Korroded with Kenny K.  The challenge was to create a dark, gothic or halloween based art piece that is distressed in some way.  I distressed my edges.  I also tried to distress the word DANGEROUS behind Bodacious Bev by adding some black embossing and then red stickles.  I hand stitched around the card and added some red gems on the bottom panel.  I thought that panel looked a little plain so I added some black glitter pillow stickers from K&Co.  So glad I got to play today!!

Supplies:  Kenny K Digital Stamp; Paper – K&Co; Stickers (K&Co.), Gems, Stickles, Black Embossing Powder, Thread, Letters (paper, unknown manf.)  Colored with Copics.

SCS SC336 Get Spooked

Halloween, Third Coast Stamps 2 Comments »

I created this card today for the sketch challenge over at Split Coast Stampers.  I had such an incredibly hard time getting this picture taken today.  Light kept bouncing off in such a way it was hard to see the details, this is why I had to take the picture at such an awkward angle.  Maybe one day, I will get a real camera….or a real photographer!  LOL

My spider might be a little to big, but he sparkles and once I got him on there, his creepy butt just looked to cool, so I had to leave him.  The spiders I found last Halloween, they were supposed to be decorations for a web, but I, of course, had other ideas for them.  : p

The sentiment is from Third Coast Rubber Stamps.  I had to cut it apart some and piece it back to make it flow the way I wanted, but I embossed it on my DP.  The “Get Spooked” 3D sticker was in a pack of other things, and I don’t recall the manufacturer unfortunately.

I popped up my hound tooth panels, because I just like the 3D look my cards have when I do. I added some orange jewels that were originally brads that I took out of their settings (the settings make them too bulky).

Supplies:  Stamps – Third Coast RS; Paper – DCWV; Embossing Power (Black); Brads, Sentiment Sticker (Unknown Manf.), Halloween plastic spider.

I created this card today for the Technique Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers (SCS)  Today’s challenge was to decorate the Envie.  I genreally always try to add something to my envelopes, so this wasn’t to big of a challenge for me, but had tons of fun playing!! ; )  All stamps used are from Third Coast Rubber Stamps.  I hand stitched the DP to the bottom layer and added my ribbon to the bottom then used foam to raise the layer slightly on the card.  After coloring my image, I adhered it to the rest of my layers and added mini brads to the corners.  I then colored a duplicate image to cut out (unicorn, roses and butterfly) and pop up on the original, giving it a 3D effect. I added this last layer to the bottom layer with the ribbon, again, using form to pop the layer up.  Yes, I’m a layer whore : )

Supplies:  Rubber Stamps – Third Coast Rubber Stamps; Paper – Oriental Trading; Thread, Ribbon, Mounting foam, Mini Brads. Colored with Copics.
