Cute and Creepy

This is the DT card I made for The Corrosive Challenge Blogs Fortnight challenge, “Cute and Creepy”  sponsored by Dilly Beans.

I created the frame by cutting strips of card stock, then I covered it with washi tape and ran it through the cuttlebug.  I then added some eyelets to the corners and wrapped and tied my black cord on it.  Added some flowers and a little skull bead in the corner and colored my image with copics.

Earth Mother

Well, here is my entry for this fortnights Corrosive Challenge, Maiden, Mother and Crone – sponsored by Delicious Doodles.  I had a hard time with the card because I didn’t have a clear picture in my head of what I wanted and the result wasn’t exactly what I was going for, so I’m not completely happy with it, but I guess it turned out ok.

Anyway, I used my cuttlebug and wood grain embossing folder to create the background.  I went over the raised parts with a white wax crayon, then used Tim Holtz distress stain (peeled paint and vintage photo) on it, and sponged off the excess, giving it the greenish brown textured background.  I was trying to make the bottom look sort of look like the ground, but I’m not sure that came across, for that I used some tan netting that I stained with the distress stain and glued down, then added my brads.  I cut out some butterfly clipart and added that to fill up some spaces.  I also cut out the leaves and popped them up for a bit of a 3-D feel.

Here is a card I made using Witch Mercedes from Simply Betty Stamps.  I’m using her for the Facebook Fan Page Challenge.   I colored her with Copic Markers and used my Martha Stewart web punch on the side.  Paper is from Michaels Recollections Fall Collection.  Spider punch is EK Success and then I strung some Halloween webbing across the bottom panel.
